Overview

UCLA Men’s Rowing is very fortunate to have four scholarship programs operating thanks to the generousity of four alums of the program. The cost of attending UCLA has risen and all costs in west Los Angeles are higher. Not to mention the fee to participate in our “club” program. These scholarships help a few athletes overcome some obstacles that might have prevented them from particiating in our rowing program.

Scholarships and student support make a profound difference in students’ lives. Students come to UCLA from all walks of life, experiencing unique triumphs and challenges throughout their respective journeys. For many, the opportunity to attend UCLA would not be possible without financial support. Scholarship support helps alleviate financial disparities, ensuring that every student can focus on their studies, explore their passions, and participate in the university’s myriad extracurricular and research opportunities.

Student support is more critical than ever as higher education and living costs continue to rise. In early 2023, UCLA launched the Affordability Initiative to eliminate the financial burden of student loans by increasing fundraising efforts for student support and providing pathways to debt-free education. By breaking down barriers to access, scholarships bring Bruins from all backgrounds to UCLA, creating a rich diversity of lived experiences that reflect our society and our world.

The lasting impact of a student’s UCLA journey is unmatched. Scholarships not only provide students with a world-class education, but also connect them with campus resources that cultivate and shape them into future leaders, pioneers, and problem solvers. These bright minds go on to build a better future for their peers, their communities, and our global society.
